Trials Of Job

Naked came I out of my mother's womb and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.  Job. 1:21

Once there was a man with blessings untold.
He had sons and daughters with him to grow old.
Then one day when Satan was walking to and fro.
He went to God and said, this I want to know.

If you lifted your hand from your prized one.
And let disease upon him come.
Would he love and worship and with you his heart obey.
Let me have him for a spell and see what he has to say.

The Lord knew Job for he had been with him for quite a while.
He looked at old Satan and said with a smile.
Consider my servant and see what you can do.
I say he will still worship me and place a curse on you.

So death and pain came upon poor old Job all Satan had.
Job was in deep pain and hurt but with God never became mad.
He said in blessings I praised God because he giveth to me.
It wasn't just my riches but also his to see.

Naked I came into this world and naked I shall leave it here.
Because with all my heart my God I do fear.
Upon his family death came and them Satan took.
But Job still claimed his God and proved he could not be shook.

So Satan said its not enough I must get tougher still.
So then he decided to test Job's will.
Upon his body came problems from the depths of hell.
Job's friends said deny him and with you all will be well.

But instead Job cursed because he was born and cursed the day.
He knew that God was near and had the last word to say.
So Job held out until the end of his trial on earth.
He was blessed more than ever because he overcame Satan's curse.
