To My Son
I hope you realize of me you
are an important part.
You are the pride of my heart.
None other can get my attention or pain me as you do.
No one else can make me proud or make me laugh like you.
Just remember the world and
its judgment is quick to put the blame.
To place a shadow and darken or stain your name.
They’ll say like Mother is the son, and this is true.
The world will judge me by what you say and do.
So the job set before you is
and shall always be.
To show the world you are a blessing to me.
Know my boy when the world has ended and the judgment you have won.
They will say she reaped what she sowed, for that was her son.
