Mountain Thoughts of Peace

As we think so we are in life so please beware.
Handle your thoughts carefully with tender loving care.
I hear children say, I can be anything I want to be.
Wouldn’t it be nice to think as a child and see the future as they see.

We grow old and forget how it was way back then in time.
How we had such high hopes and just doing it was on our mind.
Now we must plan and think and a blueprint draw out.
Don’t you ever want to do it and have in your heart no doubt?

I love mountain folk and how they live one day at a time.
No troubles or worries are on their mind.
They depend on the Lord and what they think they can do.
Not like us city folks, not like me and you.

We depend on the government to tell us what we can do and say.
Not them mountain folk, they have their own way.
Their minds are clear and they sleep at night.
Never all wound up and up tight.

They never have a nervous breakdown and to the hospital go.
The women just set back and rock and knit and sew.
I think I’d like to go back to where it first began.
When women were mommy's and the provider was the man.

Seems as if it was nice back then all was peace and no war.
Just set upon the mountain top and watch the eagle soar.
I feel peace just thinking as to the way it use to be.
When our thoughts were our own and we knew how it should be.
