I Wonder

I saw an elderly lady all wrinkled and gray.
Walking bent over along her way.
I wonder if she was thinking of how it used to be.
If anyone the real person could still see.
It was just her outward appearance not what was being seen.
Inside she was straight and tall on her cane she did not lean.

So as I walked toward her I placed a smile upon my face.
I knew that someday I would be in her place.
She didnít look sad but just tired and kind of slow.
Then as she looked up, me she seemed to know.
And as she looked my way she smiled the same as me.
Then I noticed it was my reflection I did see.
