Are You A Stumbling Block?

Stumble: Definition is: To trip and nearly fall over something, to come upon unexpectedly. Stump: Definition is: The part of a tree that is left after the top is cut down.

Now I know you're thinking what has stump to do with stumble, think for a minute, it is part of the word and a part of something has something to do with the other. Sometimes a brother or sister in Christ  is a   stumbling block to us spiritually speaking.  They do not think as we do or are not as strict as we are with our belief. When we see someone that does not believe like we do and we push our selves upon them we may hurt them more than help them. We must be very careful. Jesus  said, if they be not against us they are for us. So many times we are in agreement where it is important.

A stump is what is left behind after the damage is done. When we hurt someone and cause them to stumble before the Lord we leave a stump. People are watching us as Christians to perform as Christians. The Lord warned us not to cause someone to stumble. Mark 9:42 says "And whosoever (thats us) shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck and he were cast into the sea. We are his little ones and we are also whosoever.

We as Christians must be very careful, we are responsible to the world to hold up Jesus Christ.  If we fight and argue among  ourselves how are we to be an example to others. If you see your brother or sister thinks differently do not pursue it, if it is something that will  not keep them out of heaven and it is working for them leave it alone. 1 Cor. 1:10 says  " I beseech  you, brethren by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,  and  there be no divisions among you, but ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The Lord would prefer us to think alike but with so many different interpretations of the word out there and so many different books, there is no way, so all we can hope for is that The Holy Spirit will show us all the right way. Believe ye in me and ye shall be saved is the scripture we should hold on to. There is no way of changing that, it is the word of God, just believe. There is no way to misinterpret that scripture. Paul said so much in Corinthians as to how we should live. About the things we say and how we should say them. In Cor. 1:5  That in everything you are enriched by him, in all utterance,
and in all knowledge.

Definition of Utterance:  A statement, a vocal sound, any of several speech acts by which persons communicate, the act of voicing in a language. Our way of talking should change. People hear different things when we voice our opinion and it's very important  "How"  we do so. Our talk should be a testimony of Jesus Christ.  If we really stop and think just a moment before we speak and weigh out the words to see if are they going to be hurtful or helpful it may stop you from saying what you think many times.

Cor. 3:18 Let no man deceive himself. If any among you seemeth to be wise let him become a fool that he may be wise.  If we aren't careful we may say things we ourselves think to be very smart and wise but it will hurt someone's faith or something they stand on for support in their faith.  Now we are responsible if someone is totally deceived like "There is no God",  that is of the devil, hurt feelings or not, this is something that will take them to Hell, I am speaking of Christian people that are still on milk, they may need little tiny pieces of meat to help them, not all at once. Just remember  "WE"  are laborers together, If they be for us as the word said they are not against us. Don't be a stumbling block be a helper, cords tightly woven together will stand especially if they are all pulling together.
