A  Form and Fashion

Many times you hear Preachers say, "we are not a form or fashion", but I must disagree. We are created after a form and fashion. Gen 2:7  And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breathe of life and man became a living soul.

When we become Christians we think in our minds. Ok, all those thoughts I had are gone of the world and no more thoughts that are bad, but that's not true either.  We must build a form of Godliness.  It seems as if the harder we try to be good, the more the devil fights us, so we must start with a new  form.

Jesus was raised by a carpenter.  Each day he saw Joseph building a form and then
adding to it and making it solid.  He knew what building  something was all about. 2 Cor: 5:7  For we walk by faith , not by sight.  As we get more into the  spiritual realm we must learn to walk by faith not by sight.  We are not to let the flesh control our lives any longer.  It's called a fight, the good over the bad, a battle of the Spirit and the Flesh.

We must know what is expected of us and also what is not expected of us.  It's more important to know what is not expected.  The Bible says we are to work out our salvation
with fear and trembling but it goes on to say "For God is at work in us".  Our heart is a secret place within us and only God can change the inward parts.  We can change the outward part.  I love this one. Create in me a clean heart O God and put a new spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God: and renew a right spirit
within me.

When something changes inside you, it is God.  We are to Put on compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience.  We are not born with these things. We as the Believer
must put on the outward  form of our Lord  while he changes the inside of us, the heart.
We are to construct the outward form as a carpenter does and then God will pour the cement and make it solid.  God knows our heart and he knows what we are doing.

You know you don't always feel like saying kind things and smiling but the more you do it , the better you feel and after awhile,  you do it because it is you and you feel good about it.  These are some of the forms to start with,  Prayer, Thoughtful deeds,  Kind comments and then the nails that hold it is Faith,  knowing God will work inside the heart.

Sanctification is real and it works.  It's not just a word like some people think, it's no use putting on the form if you don't believe and have Faith that God will do it.  God doesn't say don't have the desires of the flesh, he says don't give in to them.  Say in your heart "Lord, I believe that when I build the outward form you will set the inward form"  and know and have faith he will do it.

When your flesh seems to be winning,  you say "Get under control flesh".  Be more like Jesus, get gentle, get kind, talk to your flesh.  We don't walk by our feeling and what we want, we walk by Faith.  It may take a while to build your form and at times it may
crumble, but start all over, and remember this in Thess.5:23 -  24,  "The God of peace will himself sanctify you wholly, and he who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

Start  each day saying to yourself, God has given me another day to build on this outward form,  I will try my best to get further today than yesterday.  With each thing we try God is working. You've heard the song "Crying on the inside but smiling on the outside".  Well that's what we must do.  Now don't deceive yourself, you know what you are doing and so does God.  Just work on the outside he will then place a smile within your heart.

As long as we are trying, so is God.  Don't give up when you feel the walls caving in
around you, just try harder, build a better form, work at it.  Know that as you are doing what you are supposed to do, God is mixing the cement of Faith to pour inside your heart.
